Terracotta Clay is an outstanding, much sought-after ceramic material, perfect for fine
pottery, modelling, throwing, and casting works of art. This versatile medium provides exceptional working characteristics for both hobbyists and professional ceramicists, allowing for precise sculpting, smooth wheel-throwing, and reliable mould reproduction. Its traditional iron-rich composition yields a warm, professional finish that enhances the visual depth of any sculptural or functional piece.

Appearance & Texture: Deep terracotta red in colour with a smooth texture. Available forms include a slurry of varying colour, a pugged or pressed plastic clay body, or a dry powder.

Physical Properties & Firing: Features a pH range of 5 to 9, a melting point of 1000°C minimum, an optimal firing range of 1080°C - 1180°C, and is insoluble in water.

Material Stability & Eco-Inertness: It is non-flammable, non-oxidising, and features no known hazardous reactions or decomposition products within its intended use as a ceramic material. Furthermore, the material is extremely inert, remaining highly resistant to decomposition by weathering, biological activity, and further oxidation.

Storage & Application Utility: Ideal for ceramic applications. Slop/slurry material should be agitated during storage to prevent settling.
