Pure beef dripping or white tallow serves as a traditional release agent for plaster work, preventing adhesion between surfaces. When melted and combined with paraffin or vegetable oil, it transforms into a smooth, easily applied lubricant ideal for negative mould running casts on cornices.
Beyond moulding work, tallow protects your workshop surfaces and keeps them looking clean. Simply brush it onto benches to stop plaster from bonding, allowing easy removal by hand or scraper. Scrape away excess tallow daily to avoid buildup.
