Clear Casting Resin

Clear Casting Resin is a water-clear casting resin used to produce clear castings and for embedding and encapsulation applications. Also can be used as a general-purpose casting resin and heavily filled without losing viscosity. 

When requiring a clear cast this material can only be cast in a minimum of 5mm and a maximum of 20mm at a time. However, you can easily build it up in layers to achieve whatever thickness you require.

This Clear Casting Resin is a pre-accelerated low reactivity orthophthalic acid-based resin with a very gradual curve. The product has a low peak exotherm combined with a low polymerisation shrinkage and high brilliance after polymerisation. This resin is UV light stabilised. 

Requires MEKP Resin Catalyst which should be added at 2% (2:100 Catalyst: Resin) - this needs to be measured fairly accurately so we recommended you purchase a Measuring Syringe for small amounts or a Catalyst Dispenser for larger amounts. These are both available from us. 

Gel Time:   12-18 minutes (at 25°C)

Cure Time: 42-57 minutes (at 25°C)

• 25kg Resin requires 500g MEKP Resin Catalyst
